Center for Balkan Studies won support from the “Think Tank Innovation Fund (for Humanities and Social Sciences)”

As announced on April 25, 2018, three research programs from CFL have been approved by the Annual Basic Research Project, NUAA, including “The History of China’s Relations with the Balkan Countries” proposed by the research team headed by Prof. Fan Xiangtao, “A Comparative Study of Language Communities in the Balkans and China” by the research team headed by Prof. Zhang Lixin, and “Foreign Language Education Policy and Chinese Language in the Balkans” by the research team headed by Associate Prof. Xie Xiaoyuan. These programs will get financial support from the “Think Tank Innovation Fund (Humanities and Social Sciences)” and are supposed to be completed through teamwork within two years. Their research findings will be published in the “Bulletin of the Ministry of Education (Special Issue on University Think Tanks)”, the Research Digest of the National Office for Philosophy and Social Sciences (NOPSS), and the Think Tank Edition of People’s Daily and other publications for policy references and decision making. These programs will serve the “Belt and Road Initiative”, contribute to the disciplinary construction of “International and Area Studies”, and promote the development of CBS.
