Teachers from Anadolu University Visited Center for Balkan Studies

On May 4, 2018, at the invitation of Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Dr.Taşkiran and her colleague from the School of Foreign Languages of Anadolu University of Turkey came to CBS for cultural and academic exchanges. Dr. Taşkiran delivered a lecture on “Turkish Culture and Turkish English Education”, offering an introduction to the political system, geography and economy, tourism, and other issues related to Turkish culture and English education. The lecture was followed by her discussion on topics concerning China with CBS professors like Prof. Yu Jianliang and Prof. Xie Xiaoyuan who taught Chinese language at Anadolu University a few years earlier. After the fruitful discussion, Prof. Zhang Lixin introduced the visiting scholars to the research topics carried out by CBS, such as the cultural relations between Turkey and China, educational policies, and the promotion of the Chinese language, etc. The two sides agreed to strengthen cooperation on relevant topics and promote intercollegiate exchanges in culture and education.
