Dr. Görkem from Anadolu University Visited Center for Balkan Studies

On June 21, 2018, at the invitation of CBS, Dr. Görkem from the School of Foreign Languages of Anadolu University visited CFL and conducted academic exchanges with CBS. Dr. Görkem introduced Turkey’s history, geography, religion, and culture before joining a discussion with experts from the Center on the different education systems of Turkey and China, the ethnic relations between the two nations, the language contact between Turkish and Chinese, and religious relations and other issues. The Center conducted an interview with Dr. Görkem on the influence of the “Belt and Road Initiative” on Turkey and other Balkan countries. These academic exchanges have provided inspiration for understanding the influence of the “Belt and Road Initiative” on the countries along the Road and for promoting the “Going global” of Chinese culture.

On July 7-8, 2018, Dr. Liu Xiao participated in the “4th Symposium on Chinese Language Policy and Planning and the 3rd Symposium on Hot Spots and Trends of Chinese Language Policy”.
