On May 11, 2019, at the invitation of the College of Foreign Languages, NUAA, Mr. Shen Guofang, Executive Director of the China Foundation for International Studies, former Director of the Information Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, former Spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and former Ambassador of China to the UN, attended a seminar on “International and Area Studies” with experts, teachers and students of CBS. Mr. Shen summarized the features of the current international situation. The seminar has played a role in promoting the disciplinary construction and the training of talents with international vision by combining discipline development with national strategies, and by integrating basic research with international and area studies.
Prof. Zhang Lixin, together with about 100 teachers from other universities nationwide, attended the Academic Seminar on Cooperation Between China and Central-Eastern Europe under the Framework of “Belt and Road Initiative” and the Training Program on Consultation Report Writing held in Hangzhou in April.
On May 23, 2019, CBS held a meeting to decide on five research topics and later submitted them to the Secretariat of IASCMOE. Two of them were officially listed on the research topic guidelines (No. 64 and No. 65).
