“Research into the Motivation and Implications of Greece’s Joining ‘Cooperation between 16 Central and Eastern European (CEE) countries and China in the 16+1 format’”, proposed by Prof. Zhang Lixin, director of CBS, has survived fierce competition in the national public bidding against nearly 400 other rivals and has been approved as a 2019 project by International and Area Studies Center of Ministry of Education (19GBQY063). NUAA is one of the two universities under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and one of the three in the province, that have been granted funding for such projects this year. International and Area Studies projects are annually-granted special projects that are limited in number and must be won through public bidding. The success, a classic example of successful joint efforts, was made possible by the careful preparation and revisions of the application documents by the experts of the College. Since the founding of CBS in 2017, its members have either chaired or participated in major national social science projects, and many related projects of the Ministry of Education or NUAA, so each member has been somehow involved in certain projects. So far, the Center has submitted such research reports as “Research on Higher Education Policies in Eurasian Countries” and “Overview of Romanian Education” to the Secretariat of IASCMOE, and published some CSSCI papers as well as papers indexed by SCI, EI, and ISTP, which have contributed to the growth of the Center and the College, and served the national government with references and consultation services.
